Ongoing Student Activities:

Dragon Families were created at St. Michael's during the 2011-2012 school year. There are nine families consisting of two or three students from each class in grades one through eight. The purpose of the Dragon Families is to create and foster close relationships among students of all grade levels. Once a month, the eighth graders lead their families through fun group activities. The goal of many of the Dragon Family activities is to help those in the greater community by doing things such as making Thanksgiving place mats for residents of a local convalescent home and competing in a Penny War to assist in the rebuilding of the Haitian Cathedral. The Dragon Families also attend Chapel together periodically during the school year.

 Buddy Programbuddy program
The Buddy Program has a long and proud history at St. Michael's. At the beginning of each new school year, each Kindergarten student is paired with a fifth grader, and each first grade student is paired with an eighth grader. The buddies meet several times throughout the year, attend chapel together, and even attend a field trip together. The older and younger students alike greatly enjoy spending time with their buddies.

Middle School Dances
St. Michael's traditionally hosts two dances every school year. The first dance is in October and is for 7th and 8th graders and their guests, and the second dance is the graduation dance at the end of the year. 6th graders are invited to the graduation dance as well.

I was thrilled to be fully supported in starting the organic garden for the school. The school community has embraced this beautiful teaching space, which connects our children with their food source."
